FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Abandoned, Inoperable, or wrecked vehicles
Motor vehicles abandoned on private property should be reported to Code Enforcement at 790-5138. Motor vehicles abandoned on the public right-of-way should be reported to the Police Department at 790-5180. Wrecked or inoperable vehicles are not permitted to be parked on residential property. Under the parking ordinance, a vehicle with a flat tire or clearly inoperable is considered a disabled vehicle.
Animal Complaints
Animals roaming at large and animal attacks should be reported to the Police Department at 790-5180 and Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control at 233-1200. A copy of the reports should be submitted to the Code Enforcement Division.
Building Inspections

Building Permits
Building permits are issued by the building department. Contact the building department to see if a permit is required at 790-5128.
Code Enforcement
Complaints regarding code enforcement issues should be directed to Code Enforcement at 790-5138. Code Enforcement Inspectors respond to complaints as well as initiate cases based on violations they observe.

Garbage
Garbage cans are to be screened from public view and should be put out the evening before pickup. Problems with garbage pickup should be directed to the Village Clerk at 790-5100.
Hedges
Hedges in front of the house may only be 4 feet in height. All other hedges on the property can be 6 feet in height.
Home Occupations
Any person conducting a home occupation must obtain an occupational license. The home occupational license allows a home office only No stock, trade, or commodity is to be on the property. There is to be no external signs of a business visible.
Noise
Barking dog complaints
Barking dog complaints should be reported to Code Enforcement at 790-5138 and the Police Department at 790-5180.
Construction noise
Construction noise is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Loudspeakers and Sound Amplifiers
The use of loudspeakers and sound amplifiers is prohibited between the hours of
11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on weekdays and 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m on weekends and holidays.
Nuisances
Miscellaneous items and unused or abandoned property is prohibited to be stored on private property.
Parking
Parking in the street and swale is permitted for not more than 24 hours and must be facing the flow of traffic and not obstruct traffic.

Sidewalks and Swales
Sidewalks and swales should be kept free from obstructions and maintained by the adjacent property owners.
Signage
Snipe/Bandit signs
These are signs that are placed in the medians and the right-of-ways. These signs are prohibited.
Real Estate Signs
One sign is allowed for each right-of-way frontage and should be placed on private property. In addition only two off site open house signs are allowed and they also must be placed on private property. Any real estate or open house signs placed in the right-of-ways or medians will be taken by the Code Enforcement Division.
Political Signs
Political campaign signs shall be placed on private property and be limited to 2 signs per property. These signs shall not be displayed for more than 30 days prior to the election and must be removed 10 days after the election.
