Once every 10 years, the Census Bureau counts the number of people living in the United States. This information is used to make decisions about programs and services that impact our daily lives. It is completely confidential and cannot be seen or used by any
other government agency for anything.
It is so easy to fill out and only takes a few minutes of your time; time well spent when the rewards are so important. We stand to gain our fair share of Federal, State, and County revenues based on an accurate count of people living in the Village of Royal Palm Beach. In fact, the form most people will be receiving in 2010 is the shortest it has been in 190 years!
Each person counted generates approximately $150 per year for the Village of Royal Palm Beach to operate which is more than most households will pay in property taxes. With a village average of 2.9 persons per household each residence potentially generates about $435 in revenue. This amount exceeds property tax revenues by nearly $1million.
