The Engineering Department with collaboration from the other departments manages the expenditures of the capital improvement funds, is the Village’s liaison with the State and county regarding emergency management activities, and ensures new development is planned, designed, constructed, and documented appropriately. 

The GIS Department provides for the continued development and maintenance of the Village GIS (Geographic Information System) to include data collection, map creation, disaster and recovery planning, and in house training on database and software usage. The GIS Department also makes data accessible to all Village departments as well as the public.

• Development review of site plans, construction plans, and plats
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date geographic data and make GIS data and training available to all Village staff
• Maintain integrated county maps and land related data with Village maps and land related records
• Manage expenditures of grant funds
• Manage use of Village right of ways and easements
• Village liaison with state and county officials regarding emergency management activities
