In 1996, Councilwoman Jan Rodusky and her husband Andy moved to the Village of Royal Palm Beach to raise their children and become active members in a dynamic, family-oriented community.

Jan has worked over 25 years in the nonprofit sector. She has extensive fund development, grant writing and grantmaking experience in art and culture, healthcare and education. In 2019, she established Venn There Grants Consulting, LLC to teach grant professionals and nonprofit organizations to create Grant Systems and not just focus on grant writing. During this time she’s helped more than 30 organizations maximize their ROI and effectiveness.

Prior to starting her own business, she was the Chief Grants Officer for the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. Before joining the Cultural Council, Jan spent nine years establishing and growing the grantmaking program for Palm Healthcare Foundation. As a grant maker, she administered $57M to over 300 cultural organizations. As a grant writer, she’s raised over $18M.

She strives to connect people and resources with the needs in the community. During her time on the Council, she has focused her work on public art and art activities to enhance to the community. She was instrumental in getting the Village’s Art in Public Places Policy passed in 2018 and bringing Shakespeare in the Palms live production of Twelfth Night to Commons Park this summer. She also is the liaison to the Planning and Zoning Board.

When she first moved to the village she served for four years on the Recreation Advisory Board. She has served on the boards of the Leadership Palm Beach County, Resource Depot, Delray Beach Chorale, Carbonell Awards, World Affairs Council of the Palm Beaches and Association of Fundraising Professionals. In 2008, Jan was selected as an American Marshall Memorial Fellow from the German Marshall Fund. She spent 24 days traveling to five European cities to build transatlantic relationships with key leaders from business, government and the nonprofit sector.

Jan holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in public administration, both from Kent State University. Upon completing an internship with the City of University Heights, Ohio, she was hired as the Assistant to the Community Coordinator. When she resigned her position she was awarded the Key to the City.
